There are several opportunities in the Eugene area to seek free professional development within the community and through other professional external sources. Here, you will also find updates about opportunities to connect with the Lane County community through various community events. 

Upcoming events 

  • Suicide Prevention Trainings from Lane County: QPR Trainings 
    • The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Lane County is offering free 90-minute Question Persuade Refer (QPR) trainings. The QPR model consists of these skills: Question a person about suicide. Persuade someone to get help and Refer someone to the appropriate resource. The county has set up a QPR Training registration page where interested participants may choose one of the following training dates:
      • Nov. 3, 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
      • Nov. 1, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Fall Conference American Association of Women in Community Colleges - Oregon Chapter 
    • The Oregon chapter of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) will hold a virtual fall conference on Nov. 12-13. A limited number of scholarships are available to LCC chapter AAWCC members through the President's Office. If interested in a scholarship, contact aawcc@lanecc.edu by Oct. 28. Conference and registration information is available on the AAWCC Oregon chapter website.
  • Oregon Women in Higher Education 2021 Conference 
    • Registration is now open for the Oregon Women in Higher Education Conference that will take place virtually throughout the week of Jan. 25-29, 2021. Scholarships are available. Visit the conference registration page for more information.
