LCC child care center offers Little Free Library open house, Feb. 5

The Free Little Library at the Lane Child and Family CenterEUGENE, Ore. — The Lane Child and Family Center, an on-campus child care center serving students, staff and community families, will hold a Little Free Library open house on Thursday, February 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Lane Community College main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene. A Little Free Library is a "take a book, return a book" gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share (http://littlefreelibrary.org).

The Little Free Library at LCC was built by center staff person Sabrina Croxen and her husband Bill. It is installed it front of the center. The library promotes sharing, lets children read a variety of books, and promotes donating.

The Lane Child and Family Center offers full or part-time care for the children of community, staff and student families. It is the only child care center in Lane County accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the only one to have achieved a five-star rating from Oregon's Quality Rating and Improvement System. The CFC serves children ages 2 ½ to 5 years old. Hours are Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
