Employee Email - Gmail

July 22, 2019 - Employee email is now Gmail:

GroupWise employee email and calendaring has changed to Google G Suite Gmail and calendaring as of July 22, 2019. All of your saved GroupWise email addresses, email, appointments, contacts, and tasks have been copied to G Suite and are available in G Suite.

Please remember that beginning on Monday, July 22, 2019, you will login to your Lane Google G Suite account to access your email and calendar.

GroupWise will continue to be available as an archive only. After the transition on July 22, 2019, it will not be possible to send email using GroupWise and no new email will be delivered to GroupWise.

Note: If you make changes in your GroupWise email account after your account has been migrated, these changes will not be reflected in Gmail and Google Calendar. For example, email messages that have been read in GroupWise may appear as unread in Gmail if your account was migrated before you read the message in GroupWise.


Gmail is the email system used by Lane Community College. Gmail is only accessed through the web, and there is an "Employee Email" link in the footer of every Lane webpage. Gmail can be accessed on most phones and other devices. See Google's support page about using Gmail and GSuite on mobile devices. Ongoing training will be announced at a later time.

New Accounts: If you are a new employee, the admin staff person in the department for which you were hired will request an account for you. If you are a department admin and wish to request new accounts, please submit a request using the Technology Request Form. This form can also be used for requesting technology changes related to staff changes - new employees, moving or transferring employees, and exiting employees.

Deleting Accounts:  Faculty and classified staff accounts are deleted automatically 30 days after their final separation from the college. Management employees' working agreement provides email as a continued benefit.
