Fall In-Service Week opportunities are planned Sept. 23-27 in preparation for the new academic year. Check for updates about the events listed as more information becomes available.
The college will hold its annual Fall In-Service Day on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, on the main campus with professional development opportunities for employees. The final version of the agenda is now available.
Tuesday, Sept. 24 - Faculty Connections and Lane Welcome Day
Faculty Connections: New and returning faculty are invited to Faculty Connections 2019-20. Faculty Connections includes a one-day seminar on Tuesday, Sept. 24, and an (optional) year-long mentoring program. All faculty are welcome at the seminar and mentors and first-time attendees are eligible for a stipend for their participation. The event features breakfast, lunch, and an engaging program. Lane Welcome Day: Connect with new students at Lane Welcome Day on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Programs and departments are invited to share information about their services and resources. To reserve a table, contact Tammy Walters at (541) 463-5296 (ext. 5296) or email@example.com.
Wednesday, Sept. 25 - Departmental Meetings and Faculty Sabbatical Presentations
Check with individual departments for more information on meeting schedules.
Faculty Sabbatical presentations are scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, in CML Room 220. The event is sponsored by Faculty Professional Development. Thursday, Sept. 26 - In-Service Day
The updated agenda for the day is now available.
The morning plenary session will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a "state of the college" address by President Margaret Hamilton and a presentation by Vice President of Academic Affairs Paul Jarrell.
The morning session also features a keynote presentation by Carla Gary, interim Co-Director of the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion for external community engagement at the Oregon Department of Education. Read more about Carla Gary's background and expertise in her submitted bio.
Following the morning session, employees have the option to attend breakout sessions presented by faculty, staff and managers.
The day will conclude with union and manager group meetings. Check with your respective group for meeting information.
Friday, Sept. 27 - Faculty Prep Day and College Finance Open House
College Finance holds an open house 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 27, in Building 3, Room 107. Pop in for coffee and donuts and see the staffing and responsibility changes within the department.
