Cooperative Education (Co-op Ed) GWE 180

General Work Experience 180 is an introductory course that introduces students to work place settings. GWE 180 does not fulfil the requirements for the advanced 280 course credits that are required for some Lane Community College degrees or certificates.

Course Description: Students are expected to learn skills in a work setting. Co-op sites are typically with private business, industry, non-profit organizations and governmental agencies. The work-site supervisor will orient, direct, instruct and evaluate the student's performance. The Co-op Coordinator will meet on-site with the student’s supervisor, discuss student performance, and do a final evaluation at the end of the term. Students will set learning objectives, document weekly activities, and evaluate their progress at the end of the experience.

Several forms are required to enroll the students and to complete course obligations. To assist the College Now instructors, High School Connections has attached the following forms to facilitate course development.
