Applying for Aid - Verification of Information

The US Department of Education requires institutions disbursing federal financial aid funds to verify the accuracy of the information students and their parents submit. Lane Community College complies with this requirement and approximately 30% of all applicants are randomly selected for verification.

If you are selected for verification, you will need to submit additional documents and verify information that was originally reported on your FAFSA. A letter will be sent to you requesting the additional information required. These requirements may also be viewed on myLane. The information collected may result in changes to your financial aid award and, in some cases, the repayment of funds already received. No further disbursement of financial aid funds will be given until the verification process is complete.
