College Signage Information

Wayfinding Concept

The overall concept of the wayfinding system is to keep information clear, simple, readily visible, and provided as needed. Generally, the signage system does not list campus-wide information, but rather provides information as useful to guide people from a sign location to their destinations - or to the next sign that provides further guidance. If a desired destination is not on a direct path from the point of entry, it will be listed on subsequent central or intersection sign that will head the seeker in the appropriate direction.

Design/Layout

Numerous services are provided including planning, design, and project coordination. Plans and specifications are developed to address departmental and college needs; comply with codes and regulations; acquire materials; and guide installation.

Installation

After design is completed, arrangements are made for ordering and installation. Coordination is provided between the Facilities Management & Planning, trades personnel, outside contractors, and the requesting department.

Inspection

Routine inspections of campus signage are performed to identify and initiate correcting safety, and maintenance deficiencies. Inter-Campus Work orders(ICO) are initiated for needed repairs in order to ensure a safe and supportive environment for the Lane community.
