CAR Faculty Newsletters

Each term the CAR newsletter is sent to faculty and each department. In these regular communications, CAR responds to faculty concerns and frequently asked questions. CAR also provides in-depth information on working with CAR students and disabilities. Below are previous CAR faculty newsletters.

Upcoming Workshops

CAR regularly offers workshops for students to assist them in various areas of their accommodations. Below are our upcoming workshops.

Spring Term Accessible Technology Drop-In Hours

CAR students are welcome in our Technology Center Mon-Fri from 10:00 to 2:00! Staff are on hand to help you with any questions you have about your
accessible technology, no appointment necessary. Computers and desks are also available if you need a quiet space to work with your technology or do homework.



Disability History Exhibit


The Disability History Exhibit will be at CAR from March 20th to March 30th. The exhibit traces 3000 years of seldom-told history, featuring a timeline of society’s attitudes towards disabilities and how those attitudes affect the lives of people with disabilities.

Coffee With CAR

The Center for Accessible Resources (CAR) is excited to 

announce a new round of Coffee with CAR information sessions.

These sessions are now being offered monthly to allow for additional topics and opportunities for faculty to provide input on accessibility here at LCC. We look forward to having you join us!

Coffee with CAR is held on the Last Thursday of each month, in the CAR Technology Center (Building 19, room 263B) from 2:00-3:00pm.

Invisible Disabilities Support Group

Invisible Disabilities are any disabilities that are not immediately visible to the eye, such as ADHD, Asperger Syndrome, learning disabilities, seizure disorders, narcolepsy, and many others.

Having problems using accessible technology? CAR holds drop-in hours daily for faculty and CAR students! Stop by during these times with any questions you have about Accessible Technology! Learn how to use SmartPens and Digital Recorders to take notes and record lectures.

Individual Counseling

CAR’s counseling service assists you in developing skills, increasing academic success, and living a happy, balanced life.
