Cider and Bounty in the Garden

Al Fresco logoImagine a warm summer night in the garden, dining on tables that are hand-crafted by LCC Construction Technology students, enjoying platter after platter of food that has been harvested from the garden beside you, uniquely infused with WildCraft Cider Works Cider and prepared by Culinary Students. Hospitality Management students welcome you as you arrive, take care of your every service need and execute the event flawlessly. Al Fresco! invites the community into the Learning Garden to explore the grounds, experiment with cider and food pairing and enjoy an exquisite outdoor meal.

The 2nd Annual Al Fresco! fund-raising event will be held on Wednesday, July 29. Cider and food pairing demos by culinary students, music and a silent auction will be held in the garden from 5:30-6:30pm followed by a farm-style, family service meal from 6:30pm-8pm. 

Proceeds from the event directly support the Learning Garden, hands-on student learning opportunities and technology upgrades in the Center for Meeting and Learning at Lane.

Details of the event:

This event gives selected Culinary Arts and Hospitality students an opportunity to plan and execute a "real life" food and beverage pairing event. The food is freshly harvested straight from our Learning Garden and the beverage changes from year to year.

Each year we have a new beverage sponsor for our students to learn and work with. All proceeds from this event will go to support Lane's Learning Garden, continuation of side by side learning for Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management students, and technology upgrades for the Center for Meeting and Learning. The event is two tiered and features:

Alfresco - Bits and Sips 5:30-6:30

Guests can explore cider and food pairing stations throughout the Learning Garden. The tasting stations will be hosted by culinary students who have collaborated with Wildcraft Cider Works to bring you delectable pairings of cider and food. Students will be eager to share key learnings received through their summer co-operative education experience that they've had with WildCraft's cider makers and our professional chefs.

Guests are free to stroll through the Learning Garden grounds and see what the students have accomplished and what will be served from the garden on the evening's dinner menu!

Alfresco - Cider & Bounty Dinner in the Garden 6:30-8:00

Imagine a warm summer evening in the garden, outdoor elegance, treating your staff or guests to dine on farm tables made by students from Lane's woodshop, food picked fresh from the Learning Garden, inspired by your favorite WildCraft Ciders, music lofting, and an entertaining program hosted and emceed by our Culinary & Hospitality students.
