Alert 4 - Academic Dismissal (Petition to Return) is the 4th level in the Academic Progress Standards system.
Should a student not meet Academic Progress Standards for a fourth term, they will be asked to leave the College for at least two terms. This allows students the opportunity to focus on addressing the barriers and obstacles that continue to impact academic progression and completion.
Students planning to return to Lane after two terms will need to prepare a Petition to Return. The re-entry process requires consultation with a Program Academic Advisor and a Lane Retention Counselor. Upon petition approval the student will be cleared to register for classes once again.
Students can register for future classes should no other holds exist (Check myLane - When Can I Register). Accessing myLane - myEnrollment will confirm this and identify registration dates for the following term.
