The Instructor Support Hub

This hub is a space for triaging immediate problems and as a place where you can post questions or help others with the issues that are stumping them. Each week this summer, you'll also see a new featured practice in the course and have a chance to discuss and explore it further with one of our instructional designers.

Getting it Together for Spring Term (GiT) Course Building for the Beginner 

(cohort, 3-part workshop series)

Are you fairly new to teaching in the online environment? Have you taught an online/remote/virtual course but need to get a course ready for Spring Term? Do you want to improve organization and ease of use for your students? This workshop series is for you. We will explore course layout and design, the IDS course template, and have an introduction to building community and rich and substantive interaction. An optional 1-hour open lab will follow each session. Instructor: Meredith Keene (

  • Session 1: Planning (Zoom session: Monday, March 1, 3pm-4pm, plus optional open lab)
  • Session 2: Creating your Welcome block, posting introductory materials (Zoom session, Monday, March 8, 3pm-4pm, plus optional open lab)
  • Session 3: Building Week 1 (Zoom session, Monday, March 15, 3pm-4pm, followed by an optional open lab)

Course Design Introduction (CDI) Spring Term

(Self-paced, asynchronous, paid 20 hours at CD rate)

Join your faculty colleagues and an instructional designer in a five-week online course covering current research and best practices around online teaching. This course is self-paced, asynchronous and paid at 20hrs at CD rate. There will be a non-mandatory open lab offered each week via Zoom. At the end of this training, you'll have a plan built for your next online course, and perhaps a new understanding of what students experience in the online realm. Please note: If you were previously enrolled in a different session but want to return at a more leisurely pace, drop us a line!
