7. MEDICAL OFFICE STUDENT ASSISTANT POSITIONS OPEN: The Health Clinic, http://www.lanecc.edu/healthclinic/index.html , is recruiting students to apply for Medical Office Student Assistant (MOSA) positions for the 2008/09 academic year. MOSAs provide support to clinic providers and schedulers: assisting patients, processing records, handling clinic operations, and more. MOSAs develop medical office assistance skills while helping others. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing careers in health care fields to gain experience in a real job environment. To qualify, students need to have been approved for Federal Work Study funding. There may be some Learn and Earn positions as well. The Health Clinic will provide the following open-house information and tour sessions: ~~Wednesday, May 7 from 11:00 to noon, Bldg 18, Room 101~~Thursday, May 8 from 9:00-10:00 and 11:00 to noon, Bldg 18, Room 101
The application and job description can be found online at http://studentjobs.lanecc.edu/JobX_FindAJob.aspx  Application deadline is May 14 at 5 pm. MOSA orientation and training will begin on June 27, 2008. Contact Ann Penny, ext. 5060.

8. Pick up MID-TERM PROGRESS REPORT FORMS from the front desk in the TRiO Office or the sign-in desk in the TLC. Give them to your instructors this week, and ask to get them back by next week. This information will let you know how you are doing in each class, and let you know if you need to adjust in any class to be successful. We strongly encourage you to take this empowering step to know how you are doing in your classes. If you need to consult with us, please do so!   Take good care and please come see us in TRiO!   Warm Regards, Mary
