The Counseling Department and the Community Education and Economic Development Division at Lane Community College sponsor the Community Center for Family Counseling in cooperation with the University of Oregon.

Community parents with preschool and elementary school-age children and Lane students can view family counseling sessions and participate in parent education/discussion groups from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays (9 a.m. to noon on Fridays summer term). Additional parent education/discussion groups are offered at various community locations, as are groups for couples and divorced and single adults (see Community Education). Formats for the groups are based on the theory and principles of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs. Courses may be taken for credit through the Human Development Department (CG 211, CG 212).
