College Success: Back On Course

Online Option

College Success: Back On Course (Distance Learning – Online)is designed to assist the financial aid disqualified student get back into Good Standing.  Participants will learn about college expectations and develop skills that will create greater academic and personal success.  Discovering internal and external resources will help you take charge of your academic directions and outcomes.  CS: Back On Course empowers you to make wise choices in your academic life.  The distant learning (Online) option can be a challenging mode of learning.  Therefore, you must be fully committed to this course in order to make the most of this learning opportunity.  Accepting personal responsibility will be key to ones success.

Learning Methods and Measurements of Learning - Most of your learning experiences will be completed online, however you are required to produce a BOC Portfolio containing a hardcopy of all your work.  Your Portfolio will be turned in towards the end of the term. Some of the assignments will require consultation with your instructors and/or program counselor/advisor.

Special Note:  All assignments will be submitted via e-mail, Moodle, or turned into the Counseling Department, Building #1, 1st floor.

To qualify for this on-line version of College Success: Back On Course you must have technological skills that include Internet search, Microsoft Word, and E-mail communication with attachments. 

You must also meet one the following criteria:

  • Be primarily an evening student (50% or more of your course must be taken after 4:00 PM)
  • Be primarily enrolled as a Distance Learner (50% or more of your course must be taken via Distance Learning)
  • Attending classes at Lane satellite campuses (50% or more of your courses must be taken at Lane campus site other than the main campus)

This course requires that you attend an in-person evening orientation the first week of the term.  That orientation date and location have yet to be determined.
