Graduation 2009
The Student Life and Leadership Development staff coordinates the graduation ceremony but there are other departments and steps involved in the process. The following information will help you get ready.
Graduation for Credit, Certificate and GED students will be on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Lane County Fairgrounds and Event Center in the Exhibit Hall. The ceremony will begin at 4:00 p.m. Graduates will meet at 3:00 p.m. in the Performance Hall to line up. Doors to the Exhibit Hall will open to guests and the public at 3:30 p.m. If you have disabled guests who need special seating please call Tina Lymath at (541) 463-5336 to reserve a space and receive further instructions.
Degree Application Deadline
If you wish to have your name appear in the program you must apply for your degree NO LATER THAN APRIL 30, 2009 in Enrollment Services located in building one on the first floor. For those who do apply prior to April 30, a letter will be mailed to you in mid May outlining the details of the ceremony, times and information on photography and other services.
Ordering Announcements and Cap/Gown
Announcements will be available to order in the main campus bookstore in the Center building, third floor, beginning TBA in April 2009. Cap, Gown and Tassel will be available in the main campus bookstore, beginning TBA in June 2009.
Enter the KEYNOTE SPEAKER CONTEST and win $100.00. The contest is open to any graduate of any program at Lane. Each year, a Lane graduate is selected to give the Keynote speech at the ceremony. You must present your speech (no more than 5 minutes long) to a panel of three to four judges on Friday, May 8th from 3 to 4:30 p.m.To sign up or for more information on criteria contact Tina Lymath at (541) 463-5336.
