Community Education Registration Information

Lane Community College offers noncredit classes of personal and professional interest to people throughout the college service area. These classes are listed on the following pages alphabetically by subject, along with the phone number of the department that offers them. The departments that make up Noncredit Community Education are listed below.

In some cases, students can earn continuing education units, certification or other evidence of class completion to meet personal or professional requirements. Unofficial transcripts are available on ExpressLane. Official transcripts are available at Enrollment Services on main campus and at the Downtown Center.

Noncredit classes are offered at many different locations. After selecting your classes, see the Locations and Transportation page.

Noncredit Community Education students can take advantage of many college services. For information, see Academic and Student Services in the printed schedule.

Continuing Education
The Continuing Education department offers noncredit courses in a wide range of subjects at many locations. The department is always seeking new ideas for classes. Call Continuing Education if you would like to teach a class or have a request for a class.

If a class does not have enough students enrolled one day before the first class meeting, it will be canceled. You will be notified and given a refund.

Business Development Center and Employee Training
The Business Development Center and Employee Training (BizCenter) are educational resources for the business community, from small business start-ups to large corporations. Offerings include classes, workshops, programs, business coaching, customized training, and other services.

Workforce Development/The Workforce Network
This department offers workshops and comprehensive services to all Lane County residents interested in returning to work or upgrading their current careers. Services include career planning and job search classes, skills upgrading, scholarships, and job search assistance. Services are free and open to the general public and to students who are preparing to graduate and transition into the workforce. The Workforce Network funding is provided through contracts with Lane Workforce Partnership.
