Rocky Mountain/Cascade Regional Convention

Last weekend our chapter hosted the regional convention at Camp Harlow. The turnout was 
good. Guest speakers included:

   * Darlene Baker, Co-Chair, Jennifer Baker Foundation, who presented on Suicide Prevention.
   * Sue Smith, Director of Education and Training, Keep America Beautiful
   * Jerry Smith, Chief of Police, Springfield Police Department 
   * Dr. Dale Parnell, First President of Lane Community College

Awards received included:

   * Scholarship Hallmark
   * Leadership Hallmark
   * Distinguished Service Program
   * Distinguished Advisor Award - Velda Arnaud
   * Most Distinguished Chapter President - Dee Lauzon

Finally, Terri Sullivan, former Chapter President, was elected to the Regional Vice 
President position for 2008-09.

Graduation

Historically our chapter helps distribute programs and direct visitors at graduation. 
If you can help, please contact Velda to let her know as soon as possible. To assist, 
arrive no later than 2 p.m. and enter through the back doors. Graduation will be at 
the Lane County Fairgrounds and will begin at 4 p.m.

30th Avenue Road Cleanup

The next road cleanup will be on Saturday, May 24, 2008. We will meet at 9 a.m. in 
the northeast parking lot (Lot N). Following the cleanup, we will gather for lunch 
in the Business Department in Building 2. 

For those of you who travel on 30th Avenue, we hope you have seen an improvement 
since our chapter started maintaining that stretch of road. This one simple activity 
makes a huge difference in the environment. Please come help us keep Lane’s entryway 
litter free.

Spring Term Formal Induction

Our informal induction will be held on Friday, May 30, at 3 p.m. in the Boardroom in 
Building 3. Lane Vice President Sonya Christian will be our guest speaker. All new 
members who have not already been inducted may attend. We will have snacks, and family 
and friends are welcome.
