Springfield Christmas Parade Our chapter was in charge of Lane’s parade entry during the Northwest’s Oldest and Coldest parade on Saturday, December 8, 2007. Our theme was Educational Elves. Our float with three different colored trees (green, white, and red), large packages, and youthful people won a second place ribbon in our category. Then we were awarded the Tuxedo trophy for the best display of fantasy. It was cold, but a lot of fun. Students and staff from the Culinary Arts and Diesel Technology program participated as well. Mary Spilde, Lane President, asked us to attend the Board of Education session that week. She started the meeting by showing one of the YouTube videos. Then our members distributed embroidered hats to the Board members. The Board was greatly impressed. Check out the pictures on our Web Site!!! 2
