Academic Requirements Review CommitteePurpose: The Academic Requirements Review Committee (ARRC) recommends rules and policies to maintain high academic standards. ARRC acts in an advisory capacity to the Vice President for Instruction and Student Services on the total subject of academic rules and regulations for Lane Community College. Facilitated by: Current Chair Membership: A minimum of twelve and a maximum of 16. Representation on the Committee will be as follows:
Appointment of ARRC Members: Members are appointed to the committee by the respective appointing body to serve a three year appointment. Provisions should be made for a staggered replacement so membership will always include experienced members. Roles/Duties of Committee Members: Committee Members meet to act on student petitions covering substitutions to requirements for AAOT, AS, or AGS degrees; waiver of requirements for AAS degrees and certificates; extensions on college deadlines and grade appeals. (The Grade Appeal Subcommittee of the ARRC has been delegated the authority to make decisions on grade appeals, see Ad Hoc.) The ARRC is the final authority for decisions regarding petitions submitted by students. Meeting Times/Length of Meetings: Meeting Times/Length of Meetings: Called when needed, usually one hour in length. |
