D 171 - Contact Improvisation - 2 Credits

Prerequisite: None
Contact Improvisation (CI) is a movement form based on communication through touch. CI explores the creative, energetic, and physical flow between two or more partners. Class is repeatable up to 12 credits.

D 175 - Beginning Tap - 2 Credits

Prerequisite: None
This class covers beginning tap vocabulary and technique. No previous experience required.

D 184 - Hip-Hop - 2 Credits

Prerequisite: None
This class utilizes elements of Hip-Hop, jazz dance, MTV, and street dance. It is a fun, high-energy class. Students should be in good physical condition without chronic injuries. Class is repeatable up to 12 credits.

D 185 - Hip-Hop 2 - 2 Credits

Prerequisite: None
This class utilizes elements of Hip-Hop, jazz dance, MTV, and street dance. It is a fun, high-energy class. Students should be in good physical condition without chronic injuries. Class is repeatable up to 12 credits. Previous Hip-Hop experience recommended.

D 251 - Looking at Dance - 3 Credits

Prerequisite: None
Focuses on European and Euro-American forms of dance, exploring concert dance as an art in its expressive, communicative and aesthetic aspects. Enhances the student's understanding and enjoyment of this performing art. May be used to meet arts and letters requirement for the AAOT degree.

D 298 - Independent Study - Contact department to discuss topics.

Arts and Letters Transfer Courses:

The dance department offers 3 courses that satisfy the arts and letters requirements for the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer Degree. D 251 - Looking at Dance, D260 - Group Choreography, and D 256 - Body as Knowledge/Body Fundamentals may be used to meet Arts and Letters requirements for the AAOT.
