EUGENE, Ore.–The Lane Dance Company presents an interdisciplinary dance event March 17 at 7:30 p.m. Viewers can experience the performance from the Ragozzino stage virtually in real time via the Lane Dance Company Facebook page.

With face-to-face rehearsals following strict COVID-19 safety protocols, the dancers have been steeped in the creative process at the LCC dance studios, with out-of-state dancers tuning in via zoom.

“Universal Veil” explores place as an embodied refuge for comfort and solace. “Ocean,” “l i m i n a l,” “Hatcher’s Pass, “Congaree, ” and “The Forgotten Orchard” were conceived, choreographed, directed and filmed collaboratively by dancers and faculty.

Lead dance faculty Bonnie Simoa directed the group of dance artists, combining their multidisciplinary talents to create beauty and meaning. Margo McConahay, Kenny Jones, Perry Lynn Wright, Grace Roberts, Linnea Renken, Karen Sanchez, Kamryn Dorsey, Seqouyah Jones, and Tabitha Ealy write, sing, dance, compose and choreograph dances, make films, and tell stories. New LCC Media Arts faculty member Hannah Hamalian creates animation for the project.

“Please join us March 17 at the Ragozzino Hall via the Lane Dance Company Facebook livestream for this exciting evening of music, dance and film,” said Simoa.
