LCC names Marty Hanifin as Vice President of Finance and Administration

EUGENE, Ore.—Lane Community College welcomes Martin “Marty” Hanifin as Vice President of Finance and Administration.

Hanifin brings years of senior budget and operations experience to Lane. He is a seasoned vice president for finance and administration, having served both large public regional universities and several small private colleges in states around the country. He started his career in higher education as an assistant vice president at the University of Oregon.

In addition to his campus responsibilities, Hanifin has for the last six years served as an accreditation reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission. He has presented at conferences on topics such as resources and planning and student success and retention.

Hanifin is an attorney and law graduate of the University of Virginia, from which he also holds a graduate degree in government and foreign affairs. He also holds a graduate degree in public administration from the University of Oklahoma. He is an Army veteran and received his undergraduate degree from Norwich University, the nation's oldest private military college.

Before joining higher education, Hanifin was active in state government and politics. He was the chief financial and administrative director for two Vermont agencies and served on the staffs of Vermont governors Madeleine Kunin and Howard Dean. He later served as a staff member of the Oklahoma Senate appropriations committee.
