EUGENE, Ore. – The Student Productions Association (SPA) of Lane Community College presents How to be a Sissy with Percy Q. Shun, a solo show written and performed by Brian Haimbach, lead theatre instructor at LCC.

A single performance is set for Thursday, May 9, at 7:30 in the Blue Door Theatre, Building 6, LCC main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene.

Synopsis: Fabulousness will happen tonight! Percy is your host for tonight’s lessons on being the best sissy you can be. If you grew up in the 80's, or if you are a sissy in training who never wore a mullet, Percy will help you live up to your full sissy potential! In between lessons, Brian comes out and gives us the low down on what it was like growing up as a gay boy in conservative South Carolina, USA in the 1980s, where his only refuge was doing his sister's hair and chatting with his African-American next door neighbor. Yet somehow through the racism and homophobia, Brian came out on top. This unlikely pair may pull at your heartstrings, but if Percy has his way, you will walk out with a more confident swish in your step. The show received numerous five-star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and has delighted audiences in Eugene, Portland, and California.

Brian Haimbach is presenting it at LCC as a fundraiser for the Student Productions Association. Please come support the important work SPA does each year. Audience members are invited to “Donate What You Can” at the door.
