Monthly Highlights

March 2008

KLCC held an open house March 7 to celebrate its new facility in downtown Eugene.
The new location gives KLCC three times the space and the capacity to deliver a higher level of public service to its listeners. Funding for the purchase and remodeling of the station's new home came primarily from private donations.

MEN’S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL teams ended successful seasons at the NWAACC Championship Tournament. The women's team brought home the third place trophy, and Mercedes Alexander was named to the All-Tournament Team. The men's team made its first playoff appearance since 2006.

PAM MCCLELLAND was named Classified Employee of the Month for March. She joined Lane in November 1986 as a bookkeeper in Financial Services where she worked for two years. She then worked as an administrative specialist in Electronics-Advanced Technologies until August 2006 when she became a project specialist in Cooperative Education on the High School Connection Team.

SPAM constitutes more than 90 percent of incoming e-mail at the college, according to the college’s filtering program. The program also detects false positives, e-mail filtered that we want delivered, and false negatives, e-mail received that we want filtered. For the week of March 13 we reported 24 false positives, 217 false negative, and a total of 1,041,391 incoming messages for the week.
