Activies & Achievements

 
  • Authored the chapter on Physiology for the 15 edition of Magazines for Libraries, 2006.
  • Member of the Web Advisory Group that functions to decide on directions, policies, and changes needed in the libraries public Web site. WAG drafts necessary documentation and guidelines, such as the UO Libraries Style Manual and the Standards & Guidelines for web publishers. We conduct usability tests and respond to concerns expressed by site users.
  • Co-editor of NewBreed Librarian, http://newbreedlibrarian.org, a daily newslog and bi-monthly e-zine for librarians for 18 months.
  • "Professional Reviewer" for Oregon's statewide general periodicals and newspaper database contract. Evaluated and scored a suite of databases from four vendors.
  • Facilitated a significant serials cancellation project between the library and the Psychology and Sociology departments.
  • Liaison between Association of College and Research Libraries Education and Behavioral Sciences section and American Psychological Association's Teaching section.
  • Maintained web pages for CODES, the Collection Development and Evaluation Section of RUSA (Reference and User Services Association, a division of the American Library Association), 2000-2001.
  • One of a 5-member team that revamped the UO library's web presence, and then three years later, 8 of us did it again!
  • Member of the Publication's Committee for the Oregon Library Association from 1999-2001.
  • Editor for Fall 1999 issue of the OLA Quarterly
  • Co-web weaver for OLA website and Co-editor for OLA's monthly newsletter, the Hotline, from 1998-2000.
  • Recipient of the Missouri Council of Public Higher Education Student Achievement Award in 1994
