ebrary Mobile App for Apple and Android

The streamline interface for mobile devices (new - April 2013):

  1. Create an ebrary account (if you don't have one already)
    Off campus users, you must first authenticate as a LCC student using your last name, L number, and MyLane password. Once you authenticate, you can create an ebrary account.
  2. Sign in to your ebrary account. You will need to do this every 90-days to use the app.
  3. Create an Adobe account (if you don't have one already)
  4. Install the ebrary Mobile App
    iphone, ipad, ipod touch: iTunes
    Android: Google Play    Amazon App Store
  5. You will be prompted to enter your Adobe account information and login to your ebrary account.

Using the Bluefire Reader
Apple, Android, Kindle Fire

Use Bluefire Reader to read downloaded books from ebrary's web interface (original instructions):

  1. Create an Adobe account (if you don't have one already).
  2. Install the Bluefire Reader: Apple or Android
    Kindle Fire? Follow these instructions.
  3. Open the Bluefire Reader App and login using your Adobe account.
  4. Go to ebrary
    Off campus users, you will first be authenticated as a LCC student using your last name, L number, and MyLane password. Once you authenticate, you can create an ebrary account.
  5. Create an ebrary account (if you don't have one already)
  6. Sign in to your ebrary account.
  7. Download an ebook from ebrary.
  8. The book will be transferred into the Bluefire Reader App.

Nook and Sony Reader

  1. Install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer.
  2. Create an Adobe account (if you don't have one already).
  3. Go to ebrary.
    Off campus users, you must first authenticate as a LCC student using your last name, L number, and MyLane password.
  4. Create an ebrary account (if you don't have one already)
  5. Sign in to your ebrary account.
  6. Find and select an ebook to download.
  7. Download the book to your computer.
  8. Connect your reading device to your computer. The reader appears in Digital Editions as a new bookshelf in library.
  9. Drag and drop the documents to the reader.

Kindle Reader

  1. Go to ebrary.
    Off campus users, you must first authenticate as a LCC student using your last name, L number, and MyLane password.
  2. Create an ebrary account (if you don't have one already).
  3. Sign in to your ebrary account.
  4. Download a chapter or pages as PDF to your computer.
  5. Transferred PDF from your computer using Send To Kindle.

Why do I need Adobe Digital Editions and/or the Bluefire Reader?
eBooks available in Lane Library are protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM). DRM technology is used to limit copying, printing, and sharing of ebooks. Adobe Digital Editions and the Bluefire Reader allows you to transfer books that are protected by DRM.
