Library instruction is most successful when it is tailored to specific learning objectives, subject content, and/or topics in which your students are interested. Please submit your request at least one week in advance of the date requested (view the classroom calendar) so that librarians have adequate time to develop an effective presentation. Your request will be forwarded to the librarian scheduled to teach your class; he or she will contact you within two working days to discuss your instructional needs more completely.

Students should be required to attend the library session; instructors are strongly encouraged to support the importance of library instruction by attending as well.

arrowLibrary instruction is available:

Fall, Winter, Spring Terms:
Monday - Thursday: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Summer Term:
Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

arrowThe library classroom is heavily used by individual students when not reserved for library instruction. If your class has fewer than ten students, we will reserve adequate classroom computers, but will continue to allow other students to use the remaining classroom computers during the instruction session.

A research assignment is an excellent way to reinforce the information your students will receive in this session. If you already have an assignment prepared, please email a copy to the Library. Please let us know if you would like assistance in creating an appropriate assignment. Or, take a look at some examples of Library handouts and assignments we've done in the past. If you like, we can use or adapt one or more of them to suit your student's needs.
