Class Resources
The following websites are prepared by librarians for specific classes that come to the library for instruction.

Library Instruction for Classes
The library encourages faculty to bring classes in for an orientation to the library. Librarians can help students get started on their research and help them to identify and access relevant sources. To request library instruction, fill out a library instruction request form online. Your request will be forwarded to a librarian who will contact you to confirm the details of time and location.  For more information, see our learning outcomes.

Classroom Policy
Librarians may reserve Room 250, the library's classroom, for the purpose of holding library instruction sessions and demonstrations. Instruction sessions have priority over all other uses of the room. Faculty who wish to schedule their classes for library instruction are encouraged to contact the library at least one week in advance of the anticipated visit.

In general, the classroom may not be reserved for use by teaching faculty and/or students for regular classes, exam sessions or other non-library initiated or related purposes.

For more information, see our classroom policy.

Library Assignments, Handouts, and More
Examples of assignments, handouts, screencasts and websites we can use or adapt for your classes. Also, tips from your librarians for designing effective library assignments.

Library Tutorial
Our library tutorial covers the basics to finding books, articles, and more.

Library Course
The Library and Information Research course is a 3-credit elective transfer class designed to empower students to find information and carry out research using print and electronic resources. If you have ever had trouble finding materials you need, this is the class for you.

Liaison Areas
Every department has a librarian—a "subject specialist"—who selects material for inclusion in the library's collection. Book and video requests can be made through your department's librarian. Subject specialists can also be called upon to provide library instruction for your class.
