Signing up with netLibrary
It is necessary to create a netLibrary account in order to use the netLibrary ebooks. Creating an account is essentially creating a "virtual library card." It will allow you to preview, check out and download eBooks from any computer with Internet access. By creating a netLibrary account, you become a netLibrary Member.
How to create an account
From on or off campus connect to http://0-www.netlibrary.com.library.lanecc.edu/CreateAccount.aspx . If you are off campus, you will be prompted to enter your name and student ID number.
About netLibrary
From the netLibrary site at netLibrary.com students and staff can search by keyword, title, author, subject, or a combination of every word in the book, and 'check out' an e-book to be read from home computer or Lane-networked computers. You may do full-text searches of individual books or sets of books.
The site also provides access to more than 4,500 public domain e-books, which are classic works of literature and history.
The collection's emphasis is on:
The collection will be particularly useful to distance learners, disabled or geographically diverse populations, and people with specific technical or reference questions who want quick information rather than a long, recreational read.
Bibliographic records for all of our netLibrary eBooks have been added to the Library's online catalog. Whenever you do a search any eBook that matches your search criteria will be included in the result list. You may modify your search results to eBooks, exclusively, by placing a check in the box on the screen that says, "Limit to netLibrary eBooks."
Printing from netLibrary
When reading an eBook online you may print or copy one page at a time by using your browser's Print or Copy functions. Although you can print parts of an eBook, printing an entire eBook violates copyright laws. netLibrary takes precautions to protect copyright laws. If a pattern indicates excessive printing or copying, netLibrary logs the activity and sends the user a copyright warning.
