About the Pilot

The purpose of this pilot project is to test the viability of loaning ereader devices to students, faculty, and staff.

The Kindle you borrow today is just one of many ways the Library provides access to digital resources. The Library provides thousands of ebooks and digital journals in formats that aren’t compatible with Kindles. Don’t hesitate to ask us for help finding and using these materials.

In developing this e-reader pilot program, library staff carefully considered accessibility features. Accordingly, we selected devices that provide text-to-speech technology. While we have not yet adopted a formal policy on procuring only accessibility-compliant technology, we will continue to choose the best options available within our budget.
