Who can borrow materials from LCC Library?

How long can Library materials be checked out?

Students

  • Books: Four weeks
  • Course Reserves: One hour - one week
  • Reference books: Library use only
  • Magazines: One week
  • Newspapers: Library use only
  • Audiocassette recorders: One day
  • Headphones: Due at end of day
  • Scientific calculators: Due at end of day
  • Videotapes: One week (exceptions: videos on reserve, teleconferences, and expensive videos)
  • Laptops: Two hours or one week
  • Ereaders: Two weeks

Faculty Loan Policy

Can I borrow materials from other libraries?

Summit Borrowing including University of Oregon: credit students and current or retired faculty and staff members have access to over 27 million books, sound recordings, films, video tapes, and more from over 35 Northwest colleges and universities.

Northwest Christian University: Credit students currently registered at Lane and employees with a current validated photo ID card may borrow materials from Northwest Christian University. Check with Northwest Christian University Library for details.

Interlibrary Loan: Students, staff, and community borrowers may also borrow materials from libraries worldwide through LCC Library's interlibrary loan service. Read more about LCC Library's interlibrary loan service and request form.

Where can I return materials?

Ereaders, laptops, tablets, and other computer devices: must be returned to a staff member at the laptop check out desk.

Books and videos: when the Library is closed, please use the orange drop box.

Books and videos can also be returned to any Summit library.

How do I renew materials?

Books and videos in the Library's circulating collection can be renewed online or by calling the Circulation Desk at (541) 463-5273. Other materials can not be renewed.

  • Books: up to 3 renewals are allowed if there are no holds.
  • Videos: 1 renewal is allowed if there are no holds.

What are the overdue charges and fees?

Payments: Library overdue charges and fees are regularly sent to College Finance. Payments can be made online using MyLane, in person at Building 1 (Student Services), or by mail. Visit Enrollment and Student Financial Services for more information. The Library is unable to accept payment.
