CAN I USE WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS ON CAMPUS?

Yes, Lane now provides wireless Internet access to students, staff and faculty on the main campus in certain areas. The Student and Staff Access Network (SSAN) service was initiated by Technology Advisory and Coordinating Team requests from the Office of Instruction and Student Services to provide Internet access for students in public gathering areas. Currently the areas include: ICL micro computer lab in Building 4, Room 201; Library; Cafeteria (limited coverage); Tutor Central; Student Lounge, Center Building Fourth Floor; and CIT classrooms in Building 19.

This fall, faculty and staff access was added to the network, enabling any staff member to access the Internet with their personal computer or laptop in these areas. For more information on using the SSAN, see http://www.lanecc.edu/it/ssan . The Information Technology Department is working on an expansion plan to cover the rest of campus.
