PC, MAC, and Web Clients -
The Lane GroupWise email system provides clients for PC, MAC, or
Web access.
Web Access -
Click on the GroupWise link at the right end of the yellow
staff toolbar near the bottom of the home page to log into
GroupWise from
any web-enabled computer.
Web Access While On Campus -
If you use the Lane email system from off campus a lot, and
you don't need GroupWise features other than basic email, feel
free
to use
the web client when you are on campus as well. That way, you
won't have to get used to two different email clients.
Using Other Email Systems to Access Lane Email -
If you have problems with the MAC or Web clients for GroupWise,
you may choose to use your regular email system, such as Yahoo
or Hotmail.
If you do this, please be sure to forward your Lane email address
to your private email program. To do this from the GroupWise
web
client:
- Click
on the Options icon in the center of the GroupWise toolbar
- Select Rules
- Select Rule Type: Forward and click Create
- Enter a name for the rule
- Skip the optional Conditions area
- Enter
your alternate email address in the Define Actions area
- Click
Save
Emailing Students From ExpressLane –
When you are on campus, you can email individual students or
an entire class simply by clicking on the email links on
the Class List
in ExpressLane. Once you have sent one email to the class in this
way, you can continue to send emails to the class from off campus by
finding the previous email in your Sent Items folder and
selecting Actions>Resend.
Change the Subject and content and click Send. This will
save you the trouble of entering entire class email lists
into your GroupWise
or other email program's address book.
ExpressLane Help –
There is a comprehensive system of Help screens linked to
each screen in the Personal Information, Employee, and
Faculty/Advisor modules.
To open a help screen, click on the Help button at the
top right corner of any screen in ExpressLane.
