Student Access Network (SAN) Team Charter (DRAFT)
Revised: December 8, 2004

Purpose: The SAN Team is formed to make recommendations related to the implementation and evolution of the Student Access Network.

Sponsor: The SAN Team is sponsored by the AVP for Information Technology.

Scope of work: The work of the SAN Team is limited to recommendations related to creating access points, both wired and wireless, for students who bring their own portable devices (laptops, PDAs, etc) to campus; and, to related issues of procedure and support.

Sunset : It is anticipated that the work of the SAN Team will be completed by June 30, 2005. This charter expires on that date. If there is a need for continued work then a new charter will be created.

Membership : A large group of staff were invited to participate on the SAN Team. This group accepted by attending the initial organizational meeting. The sponsor remains open to appointing additional members with interest in this area.
