Employee Recognition Award
Jan Kleminsky received the IT employee recognition award for February 2005. Quoting from Jan's nomination and additional comments:
First nomination:
I'd like to nominate Jan. I think Jan has taken on one of the biggest challenges with the Banner implementation. She's self motivated and an extremely responsible employee. She's always willing to help others even though the demands put on her are great. She doesn't really have a group assigned to her, but the entire college benefits from what she does behind the scenes ...so I'd like to take this opportunity to recognize her hard work.
Second nomination:
I would like to nominate Jan Kleminsky. She has really "stepped up to the plate" in learning a whole new universe of languages, data manipulation tools, responsibilities, working environments, and professional contacts. |

As the person responsible for all Banner authorizations and privileges, she has done an outstanding job of keeping up with the constant demand for changes. And she has stayed "Up to Date" on the intricacies of Banner Upgrades and Patches (and the challenges inherent to Lane's approval processes), thereby keeping Lane on the most current versions. Anytime I need information or assistance, she is always there, willing and eager to help. When we were driving to Portland last week, I asked her to describe what each of our LASR## servers do: she was able to reel off the designators and the functions of all 11 servers! From memory!
As an "Oracle DBA", she should really be compensated
at a level and step that does not even exist in Lane's Classified Salary Table. So
even though she has taken on all this new knowledge and responsibility, she has
demonstrated her willingness to do so at her old pay rate! I think Jan
is doing an outstanding job in her capacity as DBA, and I think she really deserves
the "You're I.T." award.
