Lucille Clifton, author of Circling Home: Stories and Sustainable Communities

Lane is delighted to welcome Lucille Clifton, distinguished author of this year’s Reading Together book, the National Book Award winner, Blessing the Boats – New and Selected Poems 1988-2000, as well as numerous other award-winning books. Lucille Clifton will read from her work, as well as speak to her sense of story and its relationship to community. Clifton states, “I’ve always been a person who found more interesting the stories between the stories. I’ve always wondered the hows and the whys to things. Why is this like this? What has gone into making us who we are?”

After her presentation, Lucille Clifton will respond to questions from the audience.
