Afternoon Session

Incorporating Sustanability into the Fabric of Lane

At the Fall In-Service the question was posed “Should sustainability be a core value at Lane?” The vast majority of participants agreed, by electronic vote, that sustainability should be a core value at Lane. During the afternoon session the Lane community will explore what this core value will mean from ecological, social, and economic perspectives.

Lane staff from all work units, departments, committees and organizations will come together to share the collective voice of Lane as we enter into important conversations about sustainability at Lane.

Breakout groups of between 30 and 50 people will gather in separate rooms, exploring how sustainability will impact the College Strategic Directions:

  • Transforming the College Organization
  • Transforming the Learning Environment
  • Transforming Students’ Lives

Inspired by the creativity of Dr. Clifton’s poetry and the Lane Dance Company, and the focus provided by President Spilde and Mayor Piercy, we will articulate applications of sustainability that positively impacts the entire Lane community.
