Collaborating to Assess Programs -
Mini-Conference
September 21, 2005 from 8a-4p, CML 102 & 103
Through plenary and breakout sessions, faculty and instructional managers will engage in activities emphasizing the collaborative nature of our work assessing student learning. A guest speaker from PSU will share experiences gathering qualitative and quantitative data to assess complex outcomes. A Lane faculty panel will discuss assessment from differing pedagogical perspectives. Discussions will include moving beyond a “compliance mentality” for accreditation purposes to a professional model of reflective practice and program improvement.
In breakout afternoon sessions, faculty will collaborate in planning assessments of Lane’s general education program.
Breakfast, morning coffee and lunch will be available for participants.
September 22, 2005 from 8a-12p, Division Locations
Within their divisions, faculty and instructional managers will engage in planning a cycle of discipline-specific program assessment for the coming year. Tools for program assessment will be available, and sample program assessments will be explored. Please feel free to print documents below for reference:
