WHAT IS EXPANDED OPTIONS?

The Expanded Options Program (EOP) provides an opportunity for qualifying students to take courses at LCC or online to complete their high school diploma. NOTE: Not all high schools/districts participate in the expanded options program. See your high school guidance counselor for more complete information and view Expanded Options Guidelines*.


WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Classes are open only to eligible juniors and seniors who are:

  • 16 years or older and have not received a high school diploma.
  • High School students approved and referred by their high school
  • Identified as at-risk students or who have dropped out of high school.
  • Identified during the spring prior to the year in which they are to enroll at Lane.

COSTS?

  • Some high schools have funding for these courses while others do not
  • All high schools can assist students in identifying courses and helping students receive both high school and college credits

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY HIGH SCHOOL WILL REFER ME AND/OR PAY THE FEES?

Check with your home high school counseling office for specific school participation in the Expanded Options Program.


WHAT COURSES CAN I TAKE?

Under the EOP eligible courses include courses that:

  • Do not duplicate existing high school classes as determined by the high school.
  • Are held on the Lane Community College campus or online.

HOW DO I APPLY?

See your high school guidance counselor for a  referral to take an Expanded Options course
