Program On-line Application Notice:

The On-line Program Application referred to in the application information will be available the morning of the first day of the application period.

General Information regarding admission:

• The Dental Hygiene program accepts 18 students each year and is open to Oregon Residents only. If you are an out of state resident, you must establish residency before applying to the program.
• Applicants must be high school graduates or have a GED certificate.
• Only completed applications will be accepted.
• The college will mail notification of acceptance to all qualified applicants within 60 days after the deadline date.
• Applicants are evaluated by a point allocation system that includes academic and nonacademic attributes.

Prerequisite Requirements

• Most applicants take college course work for one to one and one half years to fulfill entrance requirements.
• All non dental hygiene numbered courses can be taken prior to entrance to the program and are generally available at Oregon community colleges and universities.
• Academic planning and careful work with the (department counselor) can assist applicants in preparing applications which will be competitive.
• These two classes are required prior to beginning the first year in the program:
  1. Introductory Chemistry CH104 or Chemistry for Health Occupations CH 112 (5 credits)
  2. English Composition WR 121 (3 credits)

Program Expenses

• Miscellaneous costs in addition to tuition total approximately $3,100 for first-year students and $4,200 for second-year students.
• Costs include the required purchase of dental instruments and supplies, uniforms, lab fees, and transportation to field experience sites.
• Costs are subject to change without notice. Students should begin planning early for financial aid to meet their educational goals.
