Leah Twombly

Freshman

Hometown: Florence, OR

High School: Siuslaw High School

Event: Distance

Anticipated Major: Nutrition

One of our top distance recruits. She comes to us from the highly successful Siuslaw distance program. While at Siuslaw High School she captured three team state championships and an all state finish in cross country. Her blazing high school success didn’t stop with cross country- on the track, she too captured all state honors placing 8th at the 2007 State Track and Field Championships in the 1500 meters and 9th in the 800 meters. Leah hasn’t slowed down since, continuing her success at Lane where she led our women’s cross country team with an incredible second place finish at the 2007 NWAACC Cross Country Championships. Off the track, Leah is true to her country roots with hobbies involving anything outdoors. She enjoys hunting, riding ATV’s and swimming. She hopes to become a registered dietitian and physical trainer after graduating.
