Coaching
Staff
Dean Smith, Head Coach
Dean
received a USSF National C License in 1995 and has over 20 years experience
coaching soccer. He has both volunteered his time with boys and girls
youth teams in the community, as well as developed competitive teams in
club, high school, and college. After spending time in the South Eugene
girls program, he took the head position at Marist High School coaching
girls for three years. He led teams twice to league titles, received coach-of-the-year
honors, and was twice named a Shriner's Oregon State High School All-Star
Coach.
Dean took over the Titans in 2006 and helped the team earn a 16-3-3 league
record and an appearance in the Final Four where Lane finished tied third.
In recognition for the season and growth as a second year program, he
was named Southern Conference Coach-of-the-Year in 2006.
 |
Jeremy Clark, Goalkeeper Coach
Jeremy is new to the staff, but his attention to technique and
tactical awareness will be an important asset in providing insightful,
personalized training for our goalkeepers.
Mesha Clayton, Defense Coach
Mesha comes to the coaching staff as a two year starter and graduate player
from last year's Final Four team. Mesha was chosen team captain, team
MVP, and Best Defender, and was named to the 2007 All-Star Team as well
as All-Academic Team. As a coach, Mesha will specialize in defense but
will also provide an important roll on a personal level working with players
to understand the focus and dedication necessary to compete and succeed
playing soccer at the college level.
