Faculty Professional Development Instructor
FPD is searching for a qualified instructor to develop and facilitate a hybrid (mostly online) course with a focus on community college teaching for interested faculty members. All Lane faculty members are eligible to apply.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing a hybrid course with a focus on community college teaching using the League for Innovation’s Getting Results curriculum (See http://www.league.org/gettingresults/web/ )
- Adapting the course for Lane faculty members
- Collaborating with the FPD Coordinator regarding overall design and implementation of the course
- Facilitating the course one term per year (more if demand merits additional sections) including face-to-face discussions
- Making reports to FPD Oversight committee as requested
- Working with FPD Coordinator and administrative support staff to ensure participants’ stipends are processed in a timely manner, to document FTE, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise and experience in teaching pedagogy
- Coursework and/or background in educational theory
- Successful teaching experience
- Experience and/ or ability to teach online
- Experience and/or ability using learning management systems (e.g. Moodle)
Compensation:
- Up to 70 hours curriculum development funding to develop the course
- Compensation for course instruction (reassignment time or part-time salary)
