The Scholarship Opportunities book is available at the beginning
of winter term in Career and Employment Services (102 STU/1). Most scholarships have an application deadline of March 1 for awards received in the fall.

2464-ABSE Shining Star Scholarship – ABSE
One $750 award
- Must be enrolled in Adult Basic and Secondary Education classes.
- Must be a full-time student.
2026 The Register-Guard Literacy Scholarship
One $500 award
- Must be a GED graduate who started GED program with a reading score below 8th grade level and below 236 CASAS or passed Lane’s placement tests as a result of Adult Basic and Secondary Education’s Core College Program.
- Recipient is also awarded a one-year subscription to The RegisterGuard.
2810 William & Betty Forest Scholarship
Four $1,200 awards
- Must be a GED graduate from Lane’s Adult Basic and Secondary Education program who will be full-time student.
- Should demonstrate academic promise and financial need. (Prefer that the student file a FAFSA prior to applying for the scholarship and provide EFC score).
2276 Serbu Center Scholarship
Amount available determined on an individual basis.
- Applicant must have attended the Martin Luther King Education Center.
- Must be enrolled at Lane part-time or more in the fall to receive the scholarship.
- Must be a resident of Lane County.
- FAFSA not required. Financial Need will be determined on an individual basis.
Submit application directly to the MLK Education Center. School selects its own recipients.

9000 Carol Lynn Morse Memorial Scholarship
One $1,000 award
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Preference given to current and previous Saturday Circus participants or family members of current or past Head Start participants.
- Applicants must mention their connection to Saturday Circus or Head Start in their scholarship essay.
9000 ALL MAJOR – Achiever Circle Scholarship 2876
$2,500 award – number of scholarships varies depending on fund availability.
- Must be a full-time, second-year student.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.55.
- Must demonstrate financial need by completing FAFSA and providing EFC score.
9000 ALL MAJOR – Charles and Bernice Tipton Memorial Scholarship
One $1,500 award
- Open to all majors.
- May be part-time or full-time.
- Must be enrolled in a defined course of study, progressing towards a degree or certificate.
- Preference given to re-entry students (an adult returning to school while maintaining responsibilities such as employment, family, etc.)
- Preference given to individuals with educational ties to Blachly School District (Triangle Lake) and/or family ties to someone who lives within the boundaries of Blachly School District.
9000 ALL MAJOR - Executive Team Scholarship
One $1,000 award
- Open to all majors.
- May be part-time or full-time.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must demonstrate financial need by completing FAFSA and providing EFC score.
9000 ALL MAJOR – Academic and Student Affairs Scholarship
One $1,000 award
- Open to all majors.
- May be part-time or full-time.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must demonstrate financial need by completing FAFSA and providing EFC score.
9000 ALL MAJOR - Juan Young Trust Scholarship
Four $1,500 awards open to all majors.
- Must be under the age of 21 at the time of application deadline.
- Must be accepted to Lane as a full-time student.
- Must be a resident of Oregon.
- Preference given to individuals who are children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren of former Kienow’s employees, but the general public in Oregon is eligible.
- Lineal descendents of the Trustees of the Juan Young Trust are ineligible.
9000 ALL MAJOR – Miller Foundation Scholarship
Amount and number of awards dependent on fund availability.
- Recipient must be enrolled in a defined program of study, either vocational or transfer.
- Must be a full-time student.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must demonstrate financial need by completing FAFSA and providing EFC score.
- Recipient must provide at least 10% of their demonstrated financial need.
9000 ALL MAJOR – Opening Doors Scholarship
Amount and number of awards dependent on fund availability.
- Open to all majors.
- May be part-time or full-time student.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must demonstrate financial need by completing FAFSA and providing EFC score.
9000 ALL MAJOR - Robert and Bernice Ingalls Staton Scholarship
$5,000 awards - number of scholarships varies depending on fund availability.
- Open to all majors.
- Awards to career and technical, and lower-division collegiate transfer students who are seeking a degree from Lane.
- To maintain eligibility for a second year at Lane, student must be enrolled full-time and be in good standing with the college.
- Must demonstrate financial need by completing FAFSA and providing EFC score.
9000 ALL MAJOR - SCT Corporation Scholarship
One $1,000 award
- Open to all majors.
- Must be enrolled half-time or more.
- Preference given to a student who displays a commitment to leadership and excellence in higher education.
9000 ALL MAJOR - SELCO Community Credit Union Scholarship
One $1,000 award
- Must be a full-time student.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Applicant or applicant’s family must be a member of SELCO Community Credit Union.
9000 ALL MAJOR – Southtowne Rotary Scholarship
One $4,000 award
- Open to all majors.
- May be part-time or full-time.
- Must be returning to school after working and have financial responsibility for others.
- Must have a realistic plan for achieving goals.
- Must agree to visit Southtowne Rotary and give brief remarks.
- Must demonstrate financial need by completing FAFSA and providing EFC score.
9000 ALL MAJOR - True North Scholarship
Three $2,400 awards
Finding one’s True North is essential in navigating to reach a desired destination. The same is true in life. This scholarship is for a male student who is seeking his True North and meets the following requirements:
- Must be a full-time student.
- Must be a male student.
- Must have a well-defined goal (LCC degree or students planning to transfer to a four-year college with a clearly defined area of study).
- Must be a second-year student.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Must demonstrate financial need by completing FAFSA and providing EFC score.
9000 ALL MAJOR – Unique Eugene Scholarship

- Must be a full-time or part-time student
- Must be a Eugene resident

- Must be a full-time student.
2635 Hynix Semiconductor Scholarship for Science and Technology
A total of four $2,300 awards to students majoring in the program areas listed.
- Must be working on a transfer degree with a major in the Sciences, Math or Computer Information Technology.
- Must have completed their first year of studies at Lane with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must be a full-time student.
- Applicant must be one of the following: a woman, a visible minority (male or female), or student with a disability (male or female).
- Essay must address accomplishments, community involvement, special personal circumstances, and career plans.

- Recipient must practice Dental Hygiene after graduation in: Sutherlin, Myrtle Creek, Winston, Roseburg or Riddle for a minimum of one-year for each year scholarship was awarded.

For the hardworking student, the music program uses concert proceeds to help defray the cost of private instruction. The number of scholarships and award amounts varies depending on ticket sales.
- Must be a music student who has demonstrated proficiencies in the area of music.
- Scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, books, and individual lessons.
Additional Materials Required: Foundation Application is not required. Music majors are required to take private instrument or vocal lessons. Scholarships are awarded by audition for winter and spring terms. Auditions take place on Monday of finals week fall and winter terms. NURSING
NOTE: To apply for scholarships listed under the NURSING heading, please follow these special directions. Submit four complete application packets using “NURSING” as the Scholarship Code and “NURSING” as the Name of Scholarship on your application forms. The Selection Committee will consider you for all nursing scholarships. Some scholarships have “Additional Materials Required.” To be considered for these scholarships, you must include four copies of those materials also.

Nursing Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) 9001
Up to the cost of attendance (tuition, reasonable educational and living expenses). The number of scholarships and awards varies depending on fund availability.
- Must be accepted into the Nursing program.
- Must be a full-time student.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
- Must demonstrate financial need by submitting a FAFSA prior to applying for scholarship.
Additional Materials Required: See Nursing department for the required SDS application form. Applicant is not required to complete the Foundation application process in order to qualify for this funding. In addition to above requirements, must demonstrate disadvantaged background as defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Note: SDS Applications will not be available until fall term. Application for the Nursing Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) and all required materials should be submitted directly to the Nursing Program.

- Must be a second-year student in the Energy Management Program.

2464-S Shining Star Scholarship – Science
One $750 award
- Must be presently enrolled in at least one science class with an additional science class completed or have completed two science classes in the last academic year.
- Must have successfully completed at least 24 transferable college credits.
- Must be a full-time student.
2635 Hynix Semiconductor Scholarship for Science and Technology
A total of four $2,350 awards to students majoring in the program areas listed.
- Must be working on a transfer degree with a major in the Sciences, Math, or Computer Information Technology.
- Must have completed their first year of studies at Lane with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must be a full-time student.
- Must be a woman, visible minority (male or female), or student with a disability (male or female).
- Essay must address accomplishments, community involvement, special personal circumstances, and career plans.

2032 Rodney Metzger Scholarship
One $500 award
- Must be a full-time, second-year student.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must have career goals in one of the following areas: social work, K-12 education, or physical therapy.
- Must be interested in working with young people or those who are physically/mobility impaired.
Additional material required: a one-page essay identifying the way an applicant intends to "pay it forward."
2464-SS Shining Star Scholarship – Social Science
One $750 award
- Must be a second-year student and presently enrolled in at least one Social Science course or have completed at least one Social Science course in the current academic year, and intend to be a Social Science major with a bachelor’s degree.
- Must be a full-time student.
2651 Social Science Faculty Scholarship
One $500 award
- Must be enrolled in a Social Science degree or certificate program.
- Must be a full-time student.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.75.
- Cannot be the recipient of other scholarships.
6345 Working Parent Scholarship
One $1,000 award.
- Must be a working parent enrolled in a Social Science program.
- Must have completed 12 credit hours.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
