Retirees Stay Active to Support the College and Each Other
The formation of a retiree's association has long been a goal of former Lane employee Bob Way. He envisioned an organization that could provide an opportunity for retirees to keep in touch with each other, to maintain communication with the college, and to socialize in group activities. When he learned that President Spilde was interested in an organization like this, he asked a group of retirees to be the charter group to start the association, which was created in 2003. This fun, energized group of retirees has been meeting monthly ever since. "Our number one goal is to have fun," said Bob.
Anyone who has retired from Lane Community College or was employed at Lane for 10 years or more is eligible to become a member of the Lane Retiree's Association. Members stay in touch through special interest meetings and activities, a quarterly newsletter and an annual luncheon held in the spring.
If you are already a retiree and would like to pay your annual dues, please click on "Give Now - Make a Donation" and choose "LCC Retiree's Association Fund" from the designation drop-down menu.
