The demand for air travel has increased exponentially over the past two decades.  Given the current outlook this pattern won't stop anytime soon.  What's driving the growth in hiring? Several factors, including the following:

• Strong economic conditions and a global business community - Economists estimate that the demand for air travel will double in the next fifteen years.

• Growth in regional airlines - Consolidation of air routes among major carriers has inspired healthy growth among regional airlines offering well-paying positions.

• Rapid increase in retiring airline pilots - The current rate of retirements will accelerate over the next ten years.

• Military cutbacks - Today, the Air Force is training less than 50% of the pilots they trained just five years ago. More non-military airline pilots will be needed.
