  FEC Seminars

A Circuit Training SeminarEach term we offer a variety of educational and activity seminars. You can sign-up for any seminars in the Fitness Education Center (Bldg. #5, Room 101). Please check the Calendar Page for the latest times and locations.

Note-You do not have to be enrolled in Fitness Education to take these seminars.

Seminar Listings

Yoga -An introduction to the primary standing and sitting positions of Ashtanga Yoga. This seminar is accommodating for all levels of flexibility.

Personal Defense -An introduction of effective tools to use for a variety of personal defense scenarios.

Circuit Training -Group lead workout combining aerobic exercise, balance and stability exercise, core strengthening and total body strengthening exercises.

The Step Beyond -Learn about your running/walking gait and the proper footware to best support your style. Home for the Holidays Is your time limited at the gym? Learn an exercise program that you can do at home.

Smoking Cessation -Set a goal to not smoke on "The Great American Smokeout" November 17. Get help and learn tips on how to stop smoking for this day and for good.

Stretch and Flex -A variety of techniques are used to help enhance muscular flexibility and endurance and promote relaxation. Xertube workout This seminar emphasizes muscular endurance training for the upper body, lower body and core using resistance bands.

Body Sculpt -Emphasizes muscular endurance training for the upper body, lower body, and abdominals. In a typical session, we use dumbbells, soft weights, tubing, steps, small medicine balls, and body resistance to challenge every major muscle group in the body.

Beginner Pilates -Exercises to create ease with daily activities, increase fluidity and awareness of movement, improve mental focus and to create a uniformly developed body.

Core Conditioning -Exercises to strengthen the abdominal and back muscles.
