BOND UPDATE: BUILDINGS 10 & 11, RTEC, RECYCLE CENTER, ART & APPLIED DESIGN, AND SPECIALIZED SUPPORT SERVICES
The architects presented an updated estimate which included cost-cutting changes. The estimate shows that the project as revised is close enough to the budget that they will continue with design development. Contact David Amundson, 541-463-3455.

BOND UPDATE: BUILDINGS 10 & 11, RTEC, RECYCLE CENTER, ART & APPLIED DESIGN, AND SPECIALIZED SUPPORT SERVICES
The project remains in the schematic design phase and project managers continue cost estimating of the master plan. The master plan shows major renovation of building 10, as well as a moderate amount of renovation in building 11. Building 10 renovations include allocated space for the new RTEC program, a Recycling Center, and area for relocating the Art and Applied Design studio art programs from building 11. The vacated area of building 11 will be remodeled specifically for use by the Specialized Support Services program. Contact Todd Smith, 541-463-5132.

PROJECT 452 ELECTRICAL UPGRADES
Fifty-five old and obsolete panels were identified as requiring replacement. Panels have been replaced in several buildings on campus. The last campus building in which panels were replaced is building 11. Panels were replaced during winter break on December 21, 22, and 23. This project is now complete. Contact Dave Smith, 3433.

PROJECT 452 ELECTRICAL UPGRADES
Fifty-five old and obsolete electrical panels were identified as requiring replacement. Twenty of the panels have been replaced to date. The remaining 35 panels are in buildings 5, 11 and 12 and will be replaced later this year or next year. Contact Dave Smith, 463-3433.

PROJECT 451 UTILITY SUBMETERING
Completed meter installations this week: water meters for buildings 1, 2, and 5; electrical meters for buildings 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, and 27. Main building isolation valve replacements this week: domestic cold water in buildings 4, 5, and 6. In addition, eight water main valves were replaced. Contact Angela Fazio, 463-3428.

UTILITY SHUT DOWN SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 21, 22, AND 23, 2009
Electricity will be shut down in Building 11 on August 22 and 23. Contact Mark Richardson, 463-3426.

PROJECT 452 ELECTRICAL UPGRADES
LCC deferred maintenance electricians have been replacing up to 43 obsolete and unsafe electrical panels at the main campus. Work will continue to replace 30 additional panels in Buildings 4, 5, 11, and 12 in future weeks through the summer. 65% of the backbone conduit and control panel boxes are installed, buildings 9, 24, 12 (except for the paint booth), and 13. Panel upgrades are on hold for now due to class room schedules. Building 7 is complete, Building 4 is 75% complete. Buildings 11 and 5 are on order and we may change them out on August 22nd and 23rd. Departments effected by this work will be notified in advance in accordance with College policy.

PROJECT 449 ASBESTOS ABATEMENT
Pacific Environmental is scheduled to complete work in the last section of tunnel by July 28. Asbestos removal in the boiler room of building 11 is completed and work started Friday, July 17 in buildings 17, 15 and 12. Abatement crews are scheduled to start July 20 to remove the ceiling area around the old paint booth in building 12 to clear the path for installation of the new paint booth. LCC deferred maintenance electricians continue to replace up to 43 obsolete and unsafe electrical panels at the main campus including 30 additional panels in buildings 4, 5, 11, and 12 during the summer. Departments effected by this work will be notified in advance in accordance with college policy. The piping for the renewable energy project was insulated which concludes the first phase of the project. LCC Facilities staff will meet with Evergreen Engineering later this month to discuss the campus electrical systems one line verification and update, arc flash studies, and overcurrent coordination studies. Work will continue to replace 30 additional panels in Buildings 4, 5, 11, and 12 through the summer. Departments affected by this work will be notified in advance in accordance with college policy. Twin Rivers Plumbing contractors finished piping work last week in the tunnel system and in Building 7 for a renewable energy project. Evergreen Engineering has finished the Campus Electrical Systems one line verification and update, Arc Flash studies, and overcurrent coordination studies and submitted plans and recommendations. PROJECT 447 CARPET REPLACEMENT
Carpet has been ordered for a large numbers of rooms in buildings 11 and 12. The carpet order has suffered a minor set back due to a fire back East in a supply mill making it difficult to get all the carpet orders filled when promised. The offices and classrooms that are scheduled to receive new carpet will see some replacement starting at the end of July. Facilities will receive one order on June 25 and installation will be the following week. This shipment will cover the classrooms in building 12 and some other various locations.
