Register for Lane Preview Night

photo of Lane Preview Night participantsThe Offices of Enrollment and Student Financial Services and Student Recruitment and Outreach at Lane Community College cordially invite you attend Lane Preview Night, our annual on campus open house.  The program is specifically designed to provide information about our many programs, student resources and outstanding educational opportunities to prospective high school students and their families.  This is a great chance to learn more about what Lane has to offer, whether you already know that Lane is your college choice, or are still deciding what college or university is best for you. 

This year’s Lane Preview Night will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in Building 5 (gymnasium).  The program begins at 6:00 pm and ends at 8:30 pm.  All students who attend are eligible to win great prizes, including Lane merchandise, tuition certificates and iPods! 

View a map and directions to the main campus, located at 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene, OR 97405.  Parking on campus is free.

Tentative Schedule of Activities:

6:00 pm – Program Check-in (Building 5 / Gym Lobby)

6:00 pm – Information Fair (Building 5 / Main Gym and Gym Lobby)

Take this opportunity to visit with representatives from all of Lane’s academic transfer programs, career and technical programs, and our student support resources.  You may also apply for admission, have a snack and enter our prize drawing!

7:00 pm – Welcome to Lane Community College (Main Gym)

Hear from Mary Spilde (Lane Community College President), Helen Garrett (Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Enrollment and Student Financial Services), David Van Der Haeghen (Student Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator), and Josh Canady (Associated Students of Lane Community College President) about why Lane is a great option for your future!

7:30 pm – Interest Session I (Various Rooms)

photo of Lane staff member answering questions at Lane Preview NightRegister online for two sessions from the following list, one at 7:30 pm and the second at 8:00 pm.  We’ll have volunteers to help get you to the appropriate location.
                 
Financial Aid & Scholarships at Lane (gym) – Learn about the important processes in place at Lane for helping to fund your education.  Presented by Financial Aid.

Student Life at Lane (Building 4, Room 105) – Find out about the many ways that Lane students impact their college and greater community, as well as clubs and other on campus involvement opportunities.  Presented by the Associated Students of Lane Community College.

Disability Resources Transition Academy (Building 3, Room 216) – Hear from a staff of trained professionals who work to support and assist Lane students with documented disabilities.  Presented by Disability Resources [NOTE: This session is only offered once from 7:30 to 8:30 pm.]

What to do with a Lane Education (Building 5, Room 239) – What’s the difference between “academic transfer” programs and “career and technical” programs?  What resources are out there to help guide students?  This session will answer these questions and many more!  Presented by Counseling and Advising.

Financial Literacy 101 (Building 5, Room 125) – Learn how to financially prepare for college and manage your money while getting through your education.  Presented by SELCO Credit Union [NOTE: This session is only offered once from 7:30 to 8:00 pm.]

The Many Ways to Attend Lane (Building 4, Room 103) – There are lots of ways to get college credit, be it while a full time student, a high school student, and more!  Learn about all your options and how Lane works with and for you.  Presented by the High School Connections Office.

Testing…Testing…123…Testing (Building 6, Room 126) – All incoming Lane students must take placement exams in reading, writing and math.  Hear from staff who can explain this important piece of your admissions and orientation process.  Presented by the Testing Center.

8:00 pm – Interest Session II (Various Rooms)

Attend your second session.  Volunteers will be stationed around campus if you need directions or have questions.  All sessions, except Disability Resources Transition Academy and Financial Literacy 101, will be offered again at 8:00 pm in the same room locations.

8:30 pm – Reception (Building 5 / Gym Lobby)
