Student Problems Tip SheetStudent problems: WHAT TO DO?A quick reference guide for faculty
Problems with Students in ClassIf students are disruptive to the learning environment or exhibit other problem behavior you have several options:
Outside of Class but at Lane or During College ActivitiesAll student actions on Lane property or during off campus learning activities sponsored by the college are governed by the Student Code of Conduct. If students are disruptive or exhibit problem behavior your options are the same as in-class options:
Cheating or PlagiarismWhen a student cheats in your class or plagiarizes material you have the option of citing the student under the Student Code of Conduct in addition to whatever academic penalty you assess. You cite the student by writing or emailing the Executive Dean for Student Affairs who will assign a Judicial Advisor to hear the case.
